Achievements
This past year The Cheer-Up Squad has seen much improvement and expansion in all aspects. As we reflect back on the past year, into the future, we aim to further our successes.
Achievements of past year 2019

1. Volunteer Coordinator
The Cheer-Up Squad boasts a colourful group of around 70 men volunteers who selflessly devote hours to cheering up patients across London.
Until this past year, the calls were run with no proper coordinating program in place. We are proud to say, that after searching for the right person, we have employed a fantastic volunteer coordinator, thus giving structure to the call-out department of our organisation, thus allowing us to provide the best possible service and upgrade our already professional stance even higher

2. Ladies Volunteer Group
Since its inception, The Cheer-Up Squad volunteers only consisted of men. We have now expanded it...
to include a ladies branch, thus reaching out to many more ill patients at home and in hospital.

3. Fundraising Office
Running an organisation such as ours incurs large costs. In the early years of our organisation,...
our fundraising department was obviously responsible for the finance part and they succeeded greatly in bringing in the necessary funds. However a few years down the line, due to unforeseen circumstances, our fundraising department closed. Understandably, the next few years were quite difficult in procuring funds. The project manager would appeal to wealthy donors and put on different campaigns, managing to service our organisation for 2-3 years. However realising that it would be impossible to continue like that, we re-opened our fundraising office and have seen much success since it started. We view this past year as a springboard to further our financial success.

4. DVD library and DVD’s
We are proud to say that this past year our DVD library has expanded greatly, with over 400 new DVD's...
including over 60 new titles, being added to our library. These DVDs, range greatly in gender, style, and age, thus targeting anyone in need. Additionally, due to the demand, we have added to our DVD player library 15 brand new, high-quality DVD players, ensuring we don’t have to turn anyone away due to a lack.

5. Office Opening hours
Up until last year, our office opening hours were Monday through Thursday 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm. We received many requests...
to expand our opening hours to suit children in school or working people. We are proud to say, that our office hours have now expanded to include evening hours, making it easier for all our users.

6. Toys and Games
This past year has seen an upgrade in quality and quantity of our stock of toys and games which are distributed...
to patients on our visits, thus cheering them up considerably and keeping them entertained after our squad leaves. Our games target both boys and girls of different ages and styles. Included, but not limited to, are educational toys, creative gifts, fun games, DIY kits, brain games, bumper packs and many more.
